Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP)

Most provinces in Canada have an agreement with the Government of Canada that allows them to nominate immigrants who wish to settle in that province. If you choose to immigrate to Canada as a provincial nominee, you must first apply to the province where you wish to settle and complete its provincial nomination process. The province will consider your application based on its immigration needs and your genuine intention to settle there.

As of January 2015, most of the provincial nominee programs have combined their programs with the Express Entry system and will now accept a portion of their applicants through that program.

Here is a list of the provinces and territories currently participating in this program. Since the criteria vary among the provinces, you should visit their websites for more information.

After you have been nominated by a province or territory, you have to make a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residence. A CIC officer will then assess your application based on Canadian immigration regulations.

You will have to pass a medical examination and security and criminal checks. You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada. You can find more information on the funds you will need in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page.

Provincial nominees are not assessed on the six selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program.

*If you have completed a bridging program and passed the initial stage of certification as determined by the appropriate regulatory body, you are not required to have a job offer at the time of application.

**If you completed your studies at a recognized post-secondary institute outside of Newfoundland and Labrador, your job or job offer must be related to your field of study. You also may be required to work for a minimum of 1 year prior to submission of your PNP application.

However, I am coming to Canada next month and there is no international airport in Alberton City. Is it alright if I stay in other city for 1-2 days after landing and than by road or other transportation I will reach to my destination.

I was refused my application by the sinp and the reason given is listed below

You do not meet the SINP settlement fund requirements. The evidence provided did not show proof of maintaining the minimum settlement fund amount of $21,971 CAD for three months prior to your application.

• My total score on assessment grid was 63 out of 100 and the highlight of my score are presented below

1. Education and training =20
2. Skilled Work Experience=15
3. Language Ability (CLB7)=18
4. Age=10
Total=63
The only issue I have now is that 3months prior to the application, there was an error deduction in my account but was not noticed before submission but since two month prior to application I have enough and sufficient transferable amount in my account which I still maintain till date. the unfortunate thing now is that my occupation has been removed and I have no other chances of re applying.. please I need your advise

I have also other job experiences from different companies like 1.5 years as a web application developer (2008-2010) and 3 years as a freelancer from oDesk as they sent me job experience letter (2010-2013).

I have graduated in computer science and engineering in 2008 and I have got my ECA from UOT 3 days ago with 4 years canadian education equivalency. I still didn’t sit in the IELTS exam just taking preparation to sit in october.

Now my question I have two children one is 6 years old and another one is 1 years old. My wife can’t sit in the IELTS exam because she is not educated unfortunately. That means I can’t get any point from her education or IELTS.

I want to apply to PNP program. So can I apply to any PNP program with my family without my wife’s educational point? Or how much many score I need to get in IELTS in absent of my wife’s educational background?
